Bicycle Safety

When you or your children ride bikes, make sure everyone wears a helmet, even on short trips, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians. Wearing sports sunglasses can stop dust and insects from getting in your eyes. Another way to be safe on a bike is to wear bright, reflective clothing so motorists can see you. Teach your children basic traffic rules. The academy recommends that children younger than 10 not be allowed to ride near traffic.
